Today, we celebrated Pearl's birthday with her Mom, Dad, and Grandma Gwennie! First Gwennie read The Boy with Square Eyes and then she read The Gruffalo and Miss Nelson is Back! Afterwards, we sang Happy Birthday and had a Princess party for Pearl. We enjoyed yummy cupcakes and had a dance party too. Happy Birthday Pearl and thank you to Pearl's mom and dad, Julie and Oliver and to Gwennie for such a wonderful birthday celebration.

  • Morning Meeting: Good Morning Pre-K!
    • Newscaster of the Day: Charley
      • Charley: I went to Rockefeller center with my Mommy, Sister, and Aunty Jan to see the Rockettes. My favorite part was when the toy soldiers fell down. We saw Santa! But it was not the real santa.
    • Questions and comments from the class.
      • Tessa: I saw a pretend Santa too!
        • Charley: The real santa is invisible.
      • Ines: Why didn't you see the real Santa?
        • Charley: I saw the real santa on christmas.
      • Louis: I saw something moving and it was santa.
        • Charley: When I saw the Rockettes santa had funny glasses.
      • Artemis: Why did the toy soldiers fall down?
        • Charley: The battery inside the toy soldiers ran out so they fell down.
      • Della: I saw the real santa.
      • Dylan: Did you know in 3B we saw the real santa.
    • Charley wanted a Santa cheer for being the newscaster.

    • Jay: I made a card for Pearl.

Science

  • Today we did a science experiment with water, vinegar, baking soda, and popcorn kernels.
    • Ines: I don't see the baking soda anymore!
    • Zachary: It's like a tornado, maybe vinegar can lift anything up.
    • Della: Maybe the vinegar can lift them up because it adds bubbles.
    • Louis: There are bubbles! One is floating.
    • Jay: They're coming up! Some of them!
    • Dylan: Mine came up!
    • Louis: All of them are floating! I'm mixing it. They're dizzy. It looks like the galaxy.
    • Jay: Mine has bubbles. It looks like popcorn.
    • Dylan: Mine is crazy! Now mine is all down.
    • Zachary: The kernels sink. Then with vinegar, they float!
    • Tessa: Bubbles! It's a tornado.
    • Fjola: Mine spilled!
    • Colin: Some are floating!
    • Mia: I'm mixing them up. Now they're twirling.

French with Florence.

  • Bonjour song
  • We finished our game, so everyone in Pre-K got a turn. We sang the days of the week song and passed a pom pom around.
  • Florence read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and we started learning the alphabet in French.
  • Goodbye song
