Today was an adventure! We took a school bus from Buckle My Shoe to Riamede Farm in Chester, NJ. It was a long ride, but we finally made it. When we hopped off the bus, we saw our friends who had driven separately to the farm, and we were all pretty chilly. We got delicious doughnuts and apple cider, and we talked about how apple trees grow. Next, we took a hayride through the apple orchard to the pumpkin patch. We also passed tomatoes and talked about how they grow. Everyone got to pick a pumpkin. We also took some pictures by the corn stalks. Then we went to the apple trees. There were almost no apples! But everyone found at least one apple. Students worked on their scavenger hunts--they tried to find orchard-related items, such as apple cores and an apple with a worm hole. After our adventure through the orchard, we got back on the bus and had a sleepy ride back to school. Thank you to the wonderful parents and chaperones who came on the trip today! We appreciate you!
