This Friday was filled with many expressive faces and lots of questions. Themes of age, counting, and taking care of others continued. The children began reflecting on the routines, manners, and names they have learned in this first week of school. Their play reflected their evolving understanding of the environment and each other. Our morning meetings focused on names, families and practicing please and thank you. During lunch we sat in groups to spell names--many of the children were excited to spell their names for the class and learn how to spell each other's names! There has also been a growing interest in making beats, singing movement songs and rhyming.
