School can be a wonderful testing ground for figuring out how to interact with others. We are seeing the children experiment with hugs, gentle touches, and also setting boundaries with others. We are doing our best to recognize these moments and to turn them into opportunities for the children to better understand the intense emotions they may be feeling and the appropriate ways to shows those feelings. Overall, it seems as though some strong bonds are beginning to emerge within in the 1B class.
