It's funny how a simple task can be deceivingly complex and rich with opportunities for growth.  While watching the students use markers today, we reflected on this aspect of the play we saw.  Here are some of the ways inwhich we thought the students benefited from what they experienced:

taking the cap off a marker // fine motor skills

putting the cap back on a marker // hand-eye coordination

sitting in a chair // core strength

sharing the markers // social / emotional abilities

ignore surrounding noise and movement // ability to attend, maintain focus
