“Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul.” –Frederick Froebel, 1926, Father of Kindergarten

Today we…

·     Celebrated Sloane’s birthday and made her a birthday present!

·     Explored dramatic play – you may find a few pictures of certain children looking like really cute babushkas!

·     Had classical music with Isabella

·     Started our butterfly project by squeezing paint onto paper. We then folded the paper and when we opened it there was a beautiful butterfly. This is a great activity in working towards fine motor skills and color recognition! We invited each child to pick out the color and verbalize the color before we gave it to them – in doing this we are further prompting their language development and encouraging them towards independence!

·     Had free play in the gym ad played with the parachute again!

·     Explored scooping and sorting sensory materials such as feathers and pasta

·     Did animal yoga!

Today we sang…

·     Running Around

·     Happy Birthday

·     The Weather Song

·     Roly Poly

·     My Bicycle

·     The Weather Song
