On Monday we started our morning free choice with some ballet dancing. We had Swan Lake projected onto the wall.  Then the children requested snow, so we found a blizzard scene to project and the children were slipping and sliding in the snow.  Afterward we had morning meeting with 3B.  We read Stone Soup in preparation for our Thanksgiving Feast.  The children picked the items they wanted to contribute to the soup.  When 3B left, there was a lot of block building, followed by Todd Parr's The Thankful Book.   Then we asked the children what they are thankful for.

Joseph - I'm thankful for my mommy and daddy.

Dylan - I am thankful for my garden because I like it.

Rex - I'm thankful for the prize.

Ava - My home.

Milo - For 2 minutes with my mommy.

Will - My garden.

Angelo - When mommy and daddy give me a hug.

Charlie - My mommy, my grandma, my grandpa, and my sister.

Aayush - House

Elle - For when mama and papa give me hugs.

Alexander - Cake because daddy's birthday.

Hunter - Dad and mom.

On Tuesday we combined with 3B so we could start working on our Stone Soup.  We read The Thankful Book and There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey.  Afterward we had gym, followed by Spanish.  During Spanish we learned some songs for Thanksgiving and how to sing if You're Happy and You Know It.  Then it was time to start our soup.  Friends shared what they brought in, then we began cutting the potatoes and carrots and ripping the cabbage into smaller pieces.

On Wednesday we had our Stone Soup all together.  Some parents came and joined in on our festivities.  We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
